Genevieve Kec
Interior Designer
Genevieve has been an interior designer at The Hearth Room for two years and has worked in the design field for more than nine years. Her work experience includes designing both high-end residential and large commercial spaces. Her projects range from small renovations to large-scale construction. “I look at each project as a blank canvas and finish with a masterpiece which reflects the personality, dreams, and desires of each individual client,” says Genevieve.
Some of her work has received national recognition. Her Lake of the Isles kitchen was featured on the 1999 ASID Showcase House. In 2007, her work on two homes at the Sunset Knoll Family Retreat on the Whitefish Chain, MN, helped earn the company both a state and national award. Genevieve is also an advocate of sustainable design and promotes using recycled products or ‘green’ materials whenever possible on her projects. “I believe that there is green solution to every design problem, and that a product or material cannot be beautiful if it compromises your health or the health of the planet.”
Genevieve earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in Interior Design from Alexandria Technical College and is an allied member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID). She continues to keep up on the latest design trends by attending markets each year.
